Trevor champions local school

Concerned parents have rallied round Tyburn Ward campaigner Trevor Holtom to support a move to introduce additional safety measures at a local school.

The proposal to use government money to pay for a high tech communication and registration system at the Gunter School was opposed by Labour councillors but after an impassioned plea from Trevor Holtom at a recent public meeting, residents and parents voted overwhelmingly to support his campaign.

Trevor said: "The new system will allow the school to keep better records of pupils' attendance, allowing them to check automatically with parents of absent children. This can only be good news to all concerned. Why Labour would want to oppose any move which could protect children is beyond me."
