The by-election in Sutton New Hall ward to fill the vacancy left by the sad death of Tory councillor John Beadman has been announced as Thursday 22 October 2009. Polls will be open from 0700-2200.
Birmingham City Council elections office has issued the following advice:
New applications to vote by post and requests to change or cancel an existing postal vote or proxy appointment must be received by 5pm on 7 October 2009
New applications to vote by proxy must be received by 5pm on 14 October 2009
Applications to vote by proxy (at this election only) on grounds of medical emergency must be received by
5pm on 22 October 2009
