Liberal Democrat campaigner has attacked proposals to change parliamentary boundaries affecting Birmingham Erdington.
In a release to the press Ann said: "Do you live in Erdington? Well not for much longer if the parliamentary map makers get their way. In their proposals for a new constituency to elect your MP, they have taken local residents out of Erdington and put you into an artificial creation called Ladywood. This odd shaped thing stretches from Castle Vale across the rest of Tyburn and then into the city centre, taking in Nechells and Soho, and even includes an area of Smethwick which isn't part of Birmingham at all.
Local people want a local representative in Parliament not someone trying to knit together the needs of residents who have few common interests.
I am appalled that the area in which I grew up and live is no longer to be part of my local town. Erdington Liberal Democrats are objecting strongly to this ridiculous and divisive idea. You can do the same. Make your own submission to the boundary commissioners at their website: https://www.bce2018.org.uk/
Let's make sure we stay together in Erdington."
